Stronger. Fitter. Better. is not for everyone. If these apply to you, you’re not a good fit right now:
- People who are looking for quick-fixes or magic bullet solutions to their problems.
- People who only care about losing weight at any cost, without considering the effects on their long term physical and mental health.
- People who aren’t willing to get a little uncomfortable or try new things right now.
- People who aren’t interested in lifting weights.
- People who are so busy they can’t commit to at least two 45 minute workouts and two 10-15 minute walks per week, plus two 30-minute phone calls per month
- People who are immediately post surgery, dealing with injuries, or who are currently in physical therapy. Rest and heal up before committing to something more intense!
- People who don’t have access to any exercise equipment. You can join this program if you train at home, but you’ll still need to invest in some small pieces of equipment.
- People who are looking for virtual training sessions. For this program, you’ll need to be able to work out on your own.
Why should you listen to me?
It’s discouraging to feel like you don’t fit in at the gym or that traditional fitness advice doesn’t speak to you. I know because I was an overweight and out of shape nerd for much of my life.
I was ruthlessly bullied in gym class and on sports teams and learned to associate exercise with shame and pain.
I couldn’t relate to the athletic, sporty kids at all. I much preferred to hang out with fellow band geeks, thespians, writers, and other artists.
I went to an elite music school and absorbed myself in the arts as I pursued my dream of becoming an orchestral musician. My days and nights were filled with little more than music. I never exercised and ate as much as I wanted.
I thought it didn’t matter that I was out of shape. And yet, even folks who do creative work need to be strong, fit, and resilient.
Our brains and hearts live inside our bodies. When our bodies struggle due to lack of fitness, we simply can’t bring the creativity, focus, and energy necessary to bring our work and art to life.
I learned this firsthand when during my first year at music school, a major health scare sparked the start of my personal fitness journey. I had no choice but to figure out how to make exercise work for me.
At first, this was a really painful process. I felt out of place and awkward at the gym. I had to confront all my old baggage and demons.
Gradually, however, I found my stride and fell in love with the weight room. For the first time, I felt strong and confident in my own skin. I was actually excited to work out!
Then I had some unexpected results – my playing improved. I had fewer aches and pains and could sit more comfortably in long rehearsals.
My entire presence on stage transformed as I became a more empowered and self-assured musician.
The rest of my life also began to change for the better. My newfound confidence opened up my social life and I made new friends.
I was so excited to feel fit, energized, and strong that I took on lots of exciting new challenges, such as backpacking in the Smoky Mountains. Everything became a lot easier and a lot more fun.
I’m no longer a full time professional musician, but I’ll never forget my roots or what getting in shape meant for me as an artist.
I’m one of the few fitness professionals who truly understands what it means to be committed to a creative life, with all the sacrifices and challenges that entails.
I also know how much of a difference it can make when creative folks finally take charge of their health, get strong, and build bodies that can handle just about anything.
This is why I’m so passionate about helping fellow creatives and former misfits in my coaching practice. Stronger, Fitter, Better is my most comprehensive 1:1 program to date and it’s built with you in mind.

Other People’s Success
“Prior to COVID, I really loved doing in person group yoga classes and running,” writes Sam. “After, I was unfocused and having trouble staying motivated.”
“I was working out a few times a week but not seeing any strength or fitness gains because my workouts were random and unfocused,” Brad recalls.
Sam and Brad only had a TRX+bands, but I knew this was plenty to help them crush their goals. I wrote them their first program last summer and we’ve been working together ever since. They train on their own and we do a weekly virtual training session.
“I used to dread working out at home,” says Brad. “Now I am as strong as I ever was when I had access to a full gym. Pretty amazing considering we were only using bodyweight and very minimal equipment. I honestly didn’t think it was possible to see results this good without a full gym.”
Sam was initially more skeptical about training. “I don’t really love traditional strength training or weight lifting. I tend to prefer yoga or running,” she admits.
I am now in the best shape I have been in since I was a high school athlete. I feel stronger during workouts and during daily life. I completed my first 10k and am training for a half marathon, which I never would have thought possible before.”
Sam and Brad weren’t new to exercise, but they struggled to create fun and effective workouts on their own.
“I’ve been amazed at how much more effective my workouts are,” says Brad. “I had been working out for 10+ years before Caroline, and I am blown away at the progress I have made in just a few months using rudimentary equipment.”
“The consistency and accountability have been really important,” Sam reflects. “I was having trouble finding the motivation to exercise, but Caroline’s plans held me accountable and led to major improvements in my fitness.”
Last words:
Brad: “By hiring Caroline, you will see more fitness and strength gains with less time spent working out.”
Sam: “Working with Caroline was the best self-care decision I made during COVID.”
“Before I started working with Caroline, I was very inconsistent with my workouts. I felt like I had hit a plateau in my progress and motivation,” says Jason.
“Now, I would say this is the most fit I have ever been in my life. My self awareness around training has drastically changed. I’ve had noticeable physical improvements, but the biggest benefit is my level of confidence. There’s no question about it: after training with Caroline I feel much more certain in my capabilities and direction,” he writes.
Jason’s goals have included getting stronger and changing his body composition. We do full-body, strength focused workouts together and, since Jason is very curious, we spend a lot of time discussing form, programming, and nutrition. He always asks me great questions and I can tell he genuinely wants to learn as much as he can about the training process.
I always look forward to my sessions with Jason. He’s legitimately one of the nicest and most considerate people I know.
“The number one thing I like most about training with Caroline is how knowledgeable she is. But I also like that she genuinely cares and it shows. Her training style is caring, thoughtful, and effective. Our sessions make me feel energized, and I’m proud of the comfort I’ve developed around training.”
When I asked Jason what he might say to someone who is considering working with me but is on the fence, he had this to say:
“Personal training will not magically make you a fitter person. You have to put in the work and maintain some consistency. Finding the right trainer for you depends on what you are looking for, but I certainly encourage you to check out Caroline.
Caroline keeps it real and doesn’t do any gimmicks. She had an inspiring journey to get where she is today, so she’s relatable to many folks out there today.
Most importantly, Caroline is honest with herself and her clients.Simply being able to trust that her words and intentions are honest is invaluable in a trainer.”
Spencer was no stranger to working out before he hired me. But after many months working from home, he was feeling weak and out of shape. His shoulder hurt. He knew he needed professional guidance to help him safely get back to his pre-covid fitness levels:
“I was a college athlete which means two things – I already knew how to lift and I had the scars to prove it. So when I wanted to get back into lifting I had very specific goals which is why I sought out Caroline’s expertise.
I wanted to eventually start pushing myself at the levels I had grown accustomed to during my playing days but I knew my body was nowhere near ready for that intensity.
In fact, my shoulder was so bad that I could barely lift it over my head without pain and didn’t even dream of adding any weights.
After a short conversation Caroline knew exactly what I needed and designed programs that addressed my goals while correcting my deficiencies.”
I put Spencer on a plan to safely build back his strength and fitness levels so he could look and feel like his old self. He worked hard and made great progress:
“By the second month of her programming my shoulder pain was gone and I did my first overhead press in 10 years! My posture improved dramatically and I was getting stronger every day while still progressing towards my weight loss goals.
Caroline’s genius is in the simplicity of her programming which doesn’t rely on fads or cheap tricks. Instead, she leverages her deep understanding of human movement and her commitment to helping her clients achieve their goals.”
By the end of our time together, Spencer had achieved all his goals: he was leaner and stronger, had less pain, and was back in a consistent training routine. He was feeling good about his progress and ready to take over on his own.
Last words from Spencer: “Caroline was fantastic to work with and I would highly recommend her to everyone. Regardless of where you’ve come from, she will get you to where you want to be.”
